And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee… 2 Cor. 12:9
Apostle Paul had a physical ailment, he had a poor eyesight. Paul even made reference to his poor vision when he wrote : “See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.” (Galatians 6:11)
The existence of illness or suffering in a believer's life does not necessarily constitute a sinful life or a life that lacks faith. Sometimes God uses illnesses for his purposes. Paul experienced many sufferings outside of his thorn (2 Cor 11:22-28), yet God used him mightily for the advancement of His Gospel.
Perhaps it must have been very hard for him to have such poor eyesight for he mentioned in one occasion saying “Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.” But the response from the LORD was our today’s calendar verse : (2 Cor. 12:9)
God's grace was enough for the apostle and His power is made perfect in Paul's weaknesses. This Promise holds true not only in Apostle Paul's life, but also in every believer's life.
Therefore, Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
Have a Blessed Day!
