I will extend peace to her like a river. Isa 66:12
The prophet turns to those, who are in exile, that trembled at God’s word, to comfort and encourage them that the Lord will make Jerusalem prosperous like an overflowing river.
The overflowing river makes the surrounding land fruitful and brings blessings and likewise the abundance of peace and its effects.
We, as believers, can also have that peace today. But our daily struggles and because of the things happening around us, we often lose our peace.
For Christ our peacemaker came and made peace by His blood, for us to enjoy the spiritual peace in believing, flowing from His blood and righteousness.
Let us tremble at His word, walking in faith, trusting in Him, that our peace might be restored. Lord
Jesus, our Prince of Peace, grant us peace in our hearts today, in all the situations that we might face. In Jesus name. Amen!
