The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Commitment & Self Examination

A man shall sanctify his house to be holy unto the Lord. Lev 27:14

Two important lessons to learn –

Firstly, we may have committed a lot of things to the Lord, when we desperately want our prayers to be answered. Did we keep our commitments? This chapter reminds us that God expects us to keep our commitments and to be honest with Him.

Secondly, the Bible says that Job was a man who sacrificed burnt offerings daily for his sons and daughters, thinking that they might have sinned(Job 1:5). Likewise, we also have to self-examine our lives daily in the Spirit, to live a holy and a separated life. We are also responsible to bring up our children in a godly manner, so that our entire household might come to the saving knowledge of His grace.

Prayer: Gracious God, we admit that many times, we could not keep our commitments with you and have fallen short of your holy standards. Forgive us and help us to be honest and to live a holy life. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
