The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Bread of life

…They need not depart; give ye them to eat. Mt 14:16

Our God is a God of compassion and love. He cares not only about our souls but also about our physical needs. In this chapter, Jesus sees the multitudes who had followed Him and felt compassion for them and wanted them to be fed though the disciples wanted them to be sent away.

Jesus wanted the disciples to know that He is the Bread of life and that He alone can satisfy the spiritual hunger in a man’s heart. He came into the world not to give bread, but to be Bread. Jesus commanded his disciples “Give ye them to eat”. Likewise, it is His commandment for us believers to give the bread of life i.e. Jesus Christ to the spiritually hungry souls.

May our living Lord help us to have compassion for the perishing souls around us and that none of them would depart without listening to the soul satisfying Gospel!
