…offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Christ Jesus. 1 Peter. 2:5
When God became man in the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the Old Testament offerings and sacrifices were abolished as Jesus became our sacrifice who offered himself once for all. In response to that great love we as His followers should commit our lives and our ministry as a sacrifice to God.
In the old covenant, all the religious activities were centered around the temple. People were not allowed to offer sacrifices wherever they desired (Dt 12:5,13). But under the new covenant “wherever” two or three would gather in the Name of Jesus, He would be there in their midst (Mt 18:20). In the old covenant, priesthood belonged to just one of the twelve tribes. But now all the children of God are royal priests before Him to offer spiritual sacrifices as per today’s verse.

Hebrews 13:15 – Sacrifice of Praise & Thanksgiving
Hebrews 13:16 – Sacrifice of Giving to the ones in need.
