The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

God Comforts…

Zion Calendar Verse – Sep 7,2018

God comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble

-2 Corinthians 1:3,4

Summary of 2 Corinthians chapter is as follow

1.   St. Paul encourages church to trust in God in all adversities, from a consideration of the support which he had granted them already in times of afflictions; and expresses his strong confidence of their fidelity, 2 Corinthians 1:1-7

2.    Mentions the heavy tribulation which he had passed through in Asia; as also his deliverance, 2 Corinthians 1:8-11

3.   Shows in what the exultation of a genuine Christian consists, 2 Corinthians 1:12

4.   Appeals to their(church) own knowledge of the truth of the things which he wrote to them (church), 2 Corinthians 1:13-14

5.    Mentions his purpose of visiting them (church); and how sincere he was in forming it; and the reason why he did not come, as he had purposed, 2 Corinthians 1:15-24.

Verse 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

Paul opens this letter by praising the God who gives so mush mercy and comfort to the apostle and all believers. Paul considers the Father a comforter. One great purpose of God in comforting us is to enable us to bring comfort to others. God’s comfort can be given and received through others.

Often, we never receive the comfort God wants to give us through another person. Pride keeps us from revealing our needs to others, so we never receive the comfort God would give us through them.

Even spiritual comforts are not given us for our use alone; they, like all the gifts of God, are given that they may be distributed, or become instruments of help to others

Prayer

Gracious Father, may nothing separate me from You today. Comfort me when I am in deep trouble.

Teach me how to choose only Your way today so each step will lead me close to You.

Help me walk by the Word and not my own feelings. Help me to keep my heart pure and undivided.

Protect me from my own careless thoughts, words and actions.

And keep me from being distracted by MY wants, MY desires, MY thoughts on how things should be.

Finally, give travel blessings to Bro Edward William Kuntan and be with him when he shares the word of God.
