The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Grow up

…grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

-2 Peter 3:18

Summary of 2 Peter chapter 3:

St. Peter near the end of his life, writing to congregations whom he is not likely either to see or address again.

1.    St Peter drawing towards the conclusion of his second epistle, begins this last chapter with repeating the account of his design and scope in writing a second time to them, 2 Peter 3:1-2

2.    He proceeds to mention one thing that induced him to write this second epistle, namely, the coming of scoffers, whom he describes, 2 Peter 3:3-7

3.    He instructs and establishes them in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to judgment, 2 Peter 3:8-10

4.    He sets forth the use and improvement which Christians ought to make of Christ’s second coming, and that dissolution and renovation of things which will accompany that solemn coming of our Lord, 2 Peter 3:11-18

Today’s Verse:

This verse is perhaps his last words of an old Peter

Grace is not merely the way God draws us to Him in the beginning. It is also the way we grow and stay in our steadfastness. We can never grow apart from the grace and knowledge of our God, and we never grow out of God’s grace.

We must grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. "Follow on to know the Lord. Labor to know him more clearly and more fully, to know more of Christ and to know him to better purpose, so as to be more like him and to love him better.’’ This is the knowledge of Christ the apostle Paul reached after and desired to attain, Philippians 3:10.

Such a knowledge of Christ as conforms us more to him, and endears him more to us, must needs be of great use to us, to preserve us from falling off in times of general apostasy; and those who experience this effect of the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will, upon receiving such grace from him, give thanks and praise to him.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for the grace of being alive today and thank you for your grace and strength that has seen me through this week.

Thank you for being my refuge and fortress in times of trouble. Thank you for being the one I can always turn to and rely on. You are always so faithful to fulfill your promises.

I am thankful and grateful for all you did for me. Thank you for your guidance and your presence at my work from Monday to Friday helping me to resolve many complex problems.

Oh Father, Bless Bro Paul Sudhakar’s travel and his stay in Maryland. Also, I pray for your presence with him while he delivers word of God and make our hearts prepared to receive fruit of word of God. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
