But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king’s commandment.  2 Kings 18:36

The Bible says, “The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent”. “ Be still and know that I am GOD”.

Hezekiah king of Judah was distressed when he heard the insults and deals against the LORD from the enemy king of Assyria.. He described the situation as children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth. He cannot go forward and face the enemy, at the same time he cannot compromise with the enemy. He remained silent in front of the enemy and poured out with a broken heart in front of GOD. GOD of Israel heard their prayers and gave them victory.
We face threats of many kinds in our lives. Desperate situations, people offering compromises and deals, career and family problems that sound hopeless etc. What do we do first? Seek human counsel? Google search? Connecting to people over social networking communities? Instead, our first response should “ be silent and spread it before the LORD” in a humble and honest prayer. Being silent is completely surrendering to GOD, trust him and let him take over the situation.

LORD! I love you and praise your glorious name. You know the threats I face. Help me to make you as my first responder for every situation in my life. Deliver me from all evil traps.  In Jesus name. Amen
