*Thou shalt worship the Lord and Him only shalt thou serve. Mt 4:10*
One thing that we should appreciate Satan for is, *his guts*. We can understand Satan tempting and testing Job, Joseph, David, Daniel and a host of others. But, here we see Satan trying his hand at Jesus himself.
Remember? Satan was thrown down for *saying in his heart*(Isaiah 14:13). Now he goes one step further to *saying with his mouth*. He tells Jesus to worship him. Satan wants worship cause that is the only thing that he does not have, all other things are in his hand.
Jesus sets the record straight with Satan telling him whom to worship and whom only to serve. Are you serving 2 Gods? It’s time to come to the true God.
A very clear message with no ambiguity at all. This is not only for Satan, it is for me and you. I heard a preacher share that the spiritual progressive activity of a christian is as below:
*Prayer* to *Thanksgiving* to *Praise* to *Worship* to *Service*.
Where are we on this ladder? Our position shows our closeness to God.
