*For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
Psa 95:7*
In this verse, men are compared to sheep. Let’s us look at a few qualities of sheep and check if we have them today.
-
You take a dog, or a snake, or a goat etc all of them can defend themselves but sheep are the only animals that cannot *defend themselves*. They look to the shepherd to defend them. *Most of the time we defend ourselves and even more, we attack many times. Whom do we attack? Not outsiders but our own.*
-
All throughout the year, the sheep produce wool. The moment they are shaven off, new wool comes up. They are ever fruitful. *How much fruit have we borne?*
-
Goats eat almost anything and everything from plastic to cans. But sheep are picky eaters. They need grass and they relish fresh grass. *Do we have the habit of going to God for our daily fresh manna?*
-
They identify their shepherd's voice in one go. They do not go after any other person. *Are we able to hear his voice?*
As we begin this day, let us introspect and ask the Lord to help us to inculcate these wonderful qualities that sheep has.
