“I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.” – Zechariah 3:4
In the parable of the Prodigal son, the young man squandered the wealth his father gave him on worldly things. Left with nothing and in hunger, he resorted to working at a pig farm where he fed himself swine food. He returned to his father in dirty clothes to beg for mercy. While he was still a long way off, the father ran and embraced him, while summoning his servants to take off his son’s dirty clothes and clothe him with the finest robe!
In the same way, while we were filled with the sinful junk and stench of this world, our Heavenly Father reached out to us and embraced us with his love. He removed our dirty sinful rags and clothed us with garments of salvation, thus declaring us righteous!!
