God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
Troubles are part of life. We all are aware that none of us can escape from it. An assurance in our lives is that God is our ever present help in trouble. Let’s not forget that He is present 'now' in the immediate present. Name it what He's going to help us. No other help is as best as His. Neither our fortress nor our armies secured with gates of iron can stand as a refuge for our troubled soul but God is far better refuge in our distress than all these. God's weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength (1 Corinthians 1:25). Then how much more His strength is stronger for us? He is more near to us in trouble than a friend or a relative or trouble itself. He is a friend in need and a friend indeed.
O you troubled soul! Why are you downcast within yourself. Be encouraged that He is your refuge and strength in your trouble.
