You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. James 5:8
James the disciple of Christ was urging his Christian oppressed readers to be patient as they were waiting for the Lord which is depicted as a farmer waiting for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. Likewise he was urging them to stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.
We cannot control the timing of the day of the Lord. However, we can control how we respond to the waiting. God has promised to rescue us and make things right. This gives us ability to stay strong even when our situations are not favorable.
