The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Help my Unbelief

Lord, I believe; help my unbelief! Mark. 9:24

A man brought his son, who was possessed with the evil spirit to Jesus where He said "Everything is possible to those who believe." Then immediately the boy's father replies "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!". Though the boy's father believes in the Lord yet he is not assured of enough faith needed. He was struggling. Something he did not entertain was frustration. He admitting his unbelief. He's heart was transparent and poured out at the feet of the Lord.

There are possibilities for a believer to struggle with unbelief!

May be certain times:

  • Not having assurance of Salvation because of unbelief in the finished work of the Cross!

  • Struggling to testify in waters of Baptism due to several intellectual questions!

  • Struggling to wait upon the Lord for that one thing to be accomplished!

  • Unable to put forth a step forward not by sight but by faith!

Let's kneel at His presence and pour out our hearts and say "Lord help me my unbelief".

Jesus immediately healed the boy and He will assuredly help us too.
