"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful." -Psa 1:1
Today’s Verse:
It is the Psalmist's desire to teach us the way to blessedness and to warn us of the sure destruction of sinners. The Psalmist sees evil-doers round about him. The world is full of them. They walk on every side. They are here described by three characters, ungodly, sinners, and scornful.
The righteous man will be a blessed man, a happy man. The righteous man does not do certain things. He will not walk, stand and seat in the group of evil-doers. It is because sin is progressive; one evil tendency or act leads to another one. He who acts by bad counsel may soon do evil deeds; and he who abandons himself to evil doings may end his life in total fundamental doctrine from God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thanks for your mercy showered on me to see this day. I need your strength spiritually today and every day as I am living among unbelievers. I am helpless as I am sitting, walking and working along with them. Protect me from the influence of all ill thoughts and acts against your principles. Father, myself, I can do nothing, but I can do all things only through Jesus Christ, Who will strengthen me. I do need this strength almost every day. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
