“Like as a Father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear Him.” – Psalm 103:13
In the parable of the prodigal son, the Father knows the best for his son, but the son didn’t know which is the right and best way to go. He had his own understanding and his own way. The son went out and he’s been lost, then he remembers what his father had said, he feared his father and came back to his father’s house to seek forgiveness and confessed that he had sinned against God and his father. The father had received and forgave his son no matter how big his mistakes were. Such is the heart of a father towards his children. He has more joy towards his son who was lost but now found. In the same manner, the LORD pitieth them that fear Him.
Our heavenly Father has given us the privilege to be called his sons. We’re lost in this sinful world according to our own way. Our God is constant in His affection and merciful towards His children. He pities us for our foolishness and sin, but our attitude is to come back to Him in fear because He is our Father, He knows the best for us and did not desire us to perish but desired to save all of us.
On this Fathers’ Day today, let us worship our Heavenly Father who came down to earth to search and save us who were lost and wants us to be in His everlasting kingdom.
