The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Be anxious for nothing

“Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness or unease. The opposite of boldness is fear or anxiety. God never intended man to live under such pressures as we face in our modern society. God is willing to carry all our anxieties the same way a vehicle carries our baggage. The promise is connected to a command. The command is, cast your anxiety on God and the promise is God cares for you. God sees a thousand connections we do not see. When we cast our anxiety on God with confidence that He cares for us, we will have the humility of confidence and peace which Peter was referring to in verse 6. Hannah, the mother of Samuel had great cares. When she cast them upon the Lord she received the assurance that God would grant her petition, and she ate and began to rejoice.

Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered in anything short of God and His will for us. ~ Billy Graham
