The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for him.

Psalm 37:7 – Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for him.

Resting in the Lord is trusting in the Lord.

Trusting in God’s timing.

Trusting in God’s deliverance.

Trusting in God’s judgement.

Trusting in God’s law.

Trusting in God’s provision.

On the contrary, when something is delaying in our life, we get anxious and worried and look for other means of help. That means we are basically disagreeing with God because He is not cooperating with our plans.

It’s hard to be patient, ignoring everything happening around us. But God calls us to trust Him and be patient, committing our ways to Him.

You’ll never fully rest in the Lord, until you have fully committed to the Lord.

It is only when we are still, we are able to hear the voice of the Lord.

1 Peter 5:6-7 says, Humble yourselves therefore under God’s mighty hand, that He May lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Dear Lord, please keep us away from our anxious thoughts and teach us to be still in Your presence, to rest in Your love and to wait patiently for You to act – knowing that You work all things together for our benefit and for Your glory. In Jesus name, Amen!
