Daniel chapter 9 is a prayer of intercession by Daniel for the redemption of his people.
Instead of complaining of their suffering as exiles, he confessed their sins (including him) and pleaded for their restoration.
He acknowledged that the judgement that God had passed on his people to let them into captivity, was well deserving, because of their disobedience in spite of warnings.
Daniel humbled before God. He believed that God preserved them in their captivity and was assured of God’s promises of mercy and forgiveness, that God would deliver them out of it.
Daniel’s prayer was answered.
Daniel sets us an example of how to be humble, fervent and earnest in prayer.
As we confess our sins, the Lord hears, He answers and He restores, not only us, but also the people that we pray for!
Have a Blessed Day!
