For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you – Matthew. 6:14
Most of the time our prayers are not answered by God because of unforgiveness. An unforgiving husband or wife can build bitterness towards each other which results in separation. It is applicable to anybody whomever we meet in our life.
When someone does something to humiliate us, it can be hard to let it go and move on. In those situations, remember Jesus, though he was son of God he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross. Roman soldiers spitted on his face, mocked, ridiculed and struck him. Instead of cursing them, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing – Luke 23:34
Jesus Christ is our role model so follow his teachings. He said, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those curses you, pray for those mistreat you – Luke 6:27,28. It is difficult to live as per Jesus’ teaching without the help of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Holy Spirit please help me to forgive the people who mistreat, hurt, curse and mock me. Please give me a broken and contrite heart and renew right spirit in me, In Jesus name I pray. Amen!!!
