Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isa 26:3)
I have heard a story of Winchester Mansion in San Jose, which was built by Sarah Winchester who started to build from 1884 and continued until her death in 1922. The work was never stopped even a single day. There were 160 rooms, 10,000 windows and stairs that leads to blank walls, which costed about 70 M in today’s currency. Even though building of this mansion is a mystery, but one thing is clear that in order to find peace she continued building the mansion. Similar to Sarah many people trust fruitless things to find peace.
Today’s verse talks about two words trust and peace. Instead of trusting created things, if we trust the creator, we will find perfect peace. Jesus Christ is our perfect peace, when he was born, no wonder angels sing a song “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14). Let us continue to trust on our Lord Jesus so that he will give perfect peace in our lives.
