“…You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.” Psalm 59:16
King Saul was jealous of David’s popularity and wanted to kill him. Running for his life and seeking the LORD to protect him, David penned this wonderful Psalm. In such a dire situation, David chose to remind himself of God’s faithful presence and protection. He trusted God to be his only defense and praised Him.
Today, no matter what your situation is, choose to trust God to be your defense. Don’t take refuge in your wealth, job, family or friends, which are sure to fail one day. But, take refuge in Jesus and he will be your defense, not just in the time of trouble, but always!
God’s faithful presence is your impenetrable defense!
