In the early days of Solomon’s reign as king, the Lord took notice of Solomon’s love for Him, and asked him in a dream what he wanted. In his response to God, Solomon asked for an understanding mind – to know God’s plans, and a hearing heart – to know God’s direction. God was pleased with Solomon’s request and gave him wisdom such as no one else had or will ever have, and also blessed him with riches and fame!
God answered Solomon’s petition because he had a right relationship with God, and he aligned his petition to the will of God. When we walk with God daily, we will understand His heart and will know what to ask. God will certainly give beyond what we can even imagine, when we ask in His name!
