The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Obeying God is a wise choice

“He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray.” Proverbs 10:17

King Saul was instructed by the LORD to destroy the Amalekites completely. He obeyed only to a certain extent. Saul kept the Amalekite king alive and carried all the things of value back home. God rejected Saul as king because of his disobedience and lack of repentance when reproved. In a stark contrast, when King David was reproved by the LORD due to his sin, he heeded to the correction and repented. He went on to be called a man after God’s own heart!

Are we like Saul or David? Do we obey the LORD completely? Our walk with God usually starts with complete obedience, but then we slowly lose our way. God loves us so much that he wants us to be on the right track, hence corrects us when needed. Accept the LORD’s correction gladly, to be rewarded highly!
