Who is this God David pointing out and rejoicing over?
This God is an absolute Sovereign (Psalms 115:3) – He does whatever He pleases in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. God is the potter and has power over the clay. God knows all His works from the beginning.
This God is a God of the everlasting covenant (2 Samuel 23:5) – Everlasting God made a covenant with a man. God established an everlasting covenant of Grace with His son Jesus Christ, who is the head and representative for all His people.
This God is the Holy Lord God (Psalm 111:9) – Holy and Reverend is His name. He is set apart from everyone, there is none like Him! He is infinite in Holiness.
This God is Salvation (Psalm 27:1) – Salvation is in a Person and that person is Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone.
This God is a Shepherd of His people (Psalm 23) – As a shepherd, He supplies every need. He knows when even one sheep is lost and has made every provision to find us through His Son Jesus Christ.
Let us boldly say, This God of whom the psalmist declares is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even to death!
