The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

If my God is with me, whom then shall I fear?

“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go.” Genesis 28:15

This promise is for the Lord’s Chosen people and it was made by God of Israel and Creator of the universe, who neither slumbers nor sleeps. Jacob, though alone, at a distance from his father's house, no friend to keep him company, or servant to attend him, but the presence of God promised here is abundantly more than enough. Traveling from his home to a strange place to begin a new stage of his life, and seemingly alone, it would have been easy for Jacob to forget the larger purpose of his life and live in fear. The fact that the Lord was with him in every step and had a definite plan for his future should give us confidence.

The awareness of the presence of God makes all the difference for a child of God. God with us does not promise a bed of roses rather God promises to be with us through all the valleys and the hills that He allows us to go through, He will be our Guide and our Guard. He will never leave us nor forsake us.
