After Jews had returned from the exile, God provoked them to rebuild His temple. But even before a month, the work slowed down. They got discouraged and hopeless comparing their work with the magnificent temple by King Solomon. God confronts their discouragement through the prophet Haggai, to take courage and work and not fear for He is with them and His spirit remains among them.
The same promise still holds for us today.
– Are we not seeing the fruit of the labor in whatever ministry God has called us to do?
– Do we see the work we are doing for the Lord is so little, that it makes no difference?
Take courage, when God is working on our side, nothing is trivial. He is not only beside us, He will be within us, stirring our hearts and encouraging us.
Delight yourself in the work of the Lord.
Nothing we do is small when we do it in the name of the Lord. Continue to work for the glory of the Lord in building His Kingdom.
