Elisha craved for the blessing of double portion of his master's spirit when Elijah was about to be taken from him. He showed self-sacrifice, absolute surrender and unwavering faith in God. For the fulfillment of the prophetic mission, which was ahead of him, he felt the utmost necessity and desired to be filled with the power of the Spirit.
As Christians, we are called for a mission to spread the gospel, to stand for the truth, share the love of Christ and win souls for the Kingdom of God. And this is possible only with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Like Elisha, may we also desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit, that HIS power may be manifested in our lives, as we stand as the witnesses for our Lord Jesus Christ!
