The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Always pray

Men ought always to pray, and not to faint – Luke 18:1

In scripture different types of prayers are recorded.

1)      Thanksgiving prayer (Jesus thanking God the father – Matthew 15:36)

2)      Confessing prayer (David’s Confession – Psalm 51:1-19)

3)      Intercessory prayer (Abraham Intercedes for Sodom – Gen 18:16-33)

4)      Persistent prayer (Prayer for oneself – Phil 4:6, Psalms 86:6)

5)      Corporate prayer (Prayer by group – Acts 12:5)

In Luke chapter Jesus explains to his disciples about fervent prayer through the parable of persistent widow. Oftentimes we pray for an issue, after praying for days or months we tend to give up. Sometimes the answer might be delayed, it doesn’t mean “no”. But scripture says, we should never give up.

In history we see lot of great men of God who prayed earnestly. One such man was John Hyde, born in Illinois. He was an Indian missionary lived b/w 1865 – 1912. He prayed so much that he was nicknamed as “Praying Hyde”.  He prayed (Interceded for souls) so much so that his heart was literally shifted in his chest. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much – James 5:16

Prayer: Father God, help us not to give up and to be persistent in our prayers. Enable us to seek you earnestly.  In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
