The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Rejoice greatly

Rejoice greatly …behold your king is coming to you; He is just, and having salvation … Zech 9:9

Israel as a nation had been without a king when Zechariah wrote this promise. During this time, nation of Israel was ruled by high priests. The people wanted to be ruled by a king.  But they didn’t realize that monarchy rule will not be always fair. But here, Zechariah is prophesying about the king who will rule the world justly.

As per the prophecy, when the world was hopeless the promised king came.  Though He came as a king, world didn’t recognize him. The rejected king established the spiritual Kingdom.  He established his throne in the hearts of the people.  He himself is the Throne of righteousness (But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom – Hebrews 1:8).

For believers He is the cornerstone and for unbelievers He is a stumbling block. They stumble because they disobey the message. "Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed." – 1 Peter 2:6.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for redeeming us with your precious blood. Help us to grow deeper in you. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
