The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Lord is near to the broken hearted

The Lord is near to the broken hearted. And saves those who are crushed in spirit – Psalms 34:18

A broken heart may be because of sin, barren womb, financial hardship, worries of the future etc.

In scriptures, we see Job was heartbroken. In a day Job lost his children, almost all worldly possessions, his health, and his means of livelihood. Although he was broken hearted during these events, through the trial he grew closer to God. Job learnt that God is faithful, good and trustworthy through his hardship which is a lesson for all believers.

As believers, we are called to carry each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). Surrounding oneself with believers will bring in more encouragement and prayer support which will significantly lighten the load.

When God looks at us, even in our messiest, most broken state, He doesn’t see us covered in shame. Instead, He is a loving God who comforts us while we heal. Jesus is the only one who can heal the broken hearts.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being always in the midst of our problems. Help us to overcome our adverse situations with your comfort and counsel. In Jesus mighty name – Amen!!!
