Psalm 62:5
“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.”
What psalmist is expressing in this poem and specifically what type of attitude he would like his reader or listeners to have?
This whole psalm is constructed with stunning imagery which over and over creates a sense of faith, trust and reliance (my rock, my salvation, my refuge, my fortress.) psalmist is going through a disaster or a time of long-suffering, the time when he is thrown under total hopeless circumstances. He is telling that no matter what the situation how the circumstances are and what’s ahead of him, he silently trusts his Lord. This points us the time when Jesus was left alone, falsely accused, beaten, humiliated, cursed, crucified, nailed, and pierced, but He knew the hope He had is above all what He is going through the hope for all humanity. The hope of the salvation of this world to be redeemed and reconciled with the creator. He silently endured all because of that particular hope. Psalmist has encouraged us to have hope and silently trust Him, and at the right time, He will deliver the unexpected blessings. So let’s take this verse today and wait silently without grudging or complaining. Let’s start our day with a song of hope and trust and keep singing that song throughout our day. Let Him lead us to our destiny because He knows all, and He has planned everything for our betterment.
Prayer: Dear Lord Heavenly Father, mighty wonderful God, Lord help me to towards you take you as my rock, my salvation, my refuge, my fortress, help me to wait silently for your glory to be magnified from my situation and circumstances. Lord, help me to sing a joyful song throughout my day so people don’t see me but you and way I glorify your holiness and steadfastness delivering good out of me. In Jesus’s Holy Name, I pray Amen.
Have a blessed day!
