Romans 6:5
“For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His.”
What a beautiful word of God reminding us one more time today that faith without work is dead. He wants us to trust in Him and step forward with His plan to save many around us. It is our responsibility to continue our journey submitting all to Him to His plan. Putting our sinful life to death, burry all our sin, and resurrect to a new life. In this passage apostle Paul explains why the idea of salvation by grace through faith is not a license or excuse to sin. Paul has just said a remarkable thing in this verse. Those who come to God through faith in Christ experience rebirth on a spiritual level. Through the Holy Spirit, God responds to our faith in Christ by causing us to die with Christ, spiritually, and to be buried in that same spiritual sense. Then we are raised to new spiritual life as He was raised to a new physical life by the Father.
Prayer: Dear Lord Heavenly Father mighty wonderful God, Lord, please open my understanding more and more to the wonderful truths that are contained in this astonishing verse of your Holy words. Lord thank You that by your strength my old sinful nature is crucified with Christ. Thank You Lord that because Christ is my representative – my “old Adamic self’ was crucified with Him, so that I no longer need to be a slave to sin but am set free fully resurrected in Spirit with Christ to live holy – in Jesus’s Holy Name I pray Amen.
