Matthew 4:10 “Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’””
Today’s verse is a commonly known scripture for all the believers where our Lord Jesus Christ was taken by the spirit to be tested, and satan touched all avenues to make Him fall in those temptations. We encounter similar trials in our everyday life. Sometimes we pass and sometimes we fall into temptations. These scriptures can help us in our daily walk with Christ to use His walk as model and answer gently no to our confusions and rebuke satan when it’s time rebuke him. Jesus answered and reacted perfectly gave us a perfect model. He answered gently when scriptures are presented in manipulated form but when it came to the point where He has no other options left, He gave the scriptures as a reference but rebuked satan first. He said “get thee behind me”: mean you follow me instead of I follow your instructions. Jesus was expressive of indignation and abhorrence; his impudence, and detesting his impiety: he had borne his insults and temptations with great patience; He had him with mildness and gentleness where he can; but now Satan’s behavior to Jesus was intolerable, which obliged him to show His resentment, exert His power and authority, and rid himself at once of so vile a creature; giving this reason for it; let’s start our day using Jesus’ way of responding to our temptations. Using His words as our references, rebuking our worldly desires which can lead us to worship the things of this world instead of worshipping the one who created all.
Prayer: Dear Lord Heavenly Father mighty wonderful God, Lord, thank you for showing me path where I should look when tempted and who I should worship. Lord lead the me through your Holy Spirit and help me to be prepared to overcome my temptations and be victorious to bring glory to Your holy amen. In Jesus’s Holy name I pray Amen.
Have a blessed day!
