For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land. Deut. 8:7
In this passage Moses is addressing Israelites by way of remembrance. He is telling them of how the Lord led them through the wilderness 40 years, testing them, and proving them. He then looks forward and reminds them of the good land into which the Lord their God is about to bring them. With the humbling and life learning lessons of the wilderness in mind, Moses instructs Israelites to obey the Lord because the Lord is bringing them into a good land (8:6-10). The Lord is going to bring them into the land and they will eat and be satisfied (8:10). God will satisfy us if we trust in Him. When we are satisfied we are to praise the Lord for what He has given us.
We also live in a country of abundance with food, water, shelter, and transportation. Do we take this as God’s provision or just take these things for granted? We need to remember that all we have comes from God. We should be thanking God daily for His love, mercy, and grace. Also, for the great abundance He has showered upon us.
