The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

The Lord’s Way

Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth. Psalms 86:11

When David went through difficulties he desired to remain teachable, flexible, and adaptable to God’s plans. In this prayer David reminded himself not to be too wise in his own eyes. David may be admitting that one part of his heart honored God while the other part rebelled. In the latter part of the verse David prayed to unite and give him an undivided heart loyal to God.

David’s prayer is to remove everything that is hindering him from having a personal relationship with God. David is being honest with himself and with God in admitting that he was unable to clearly hear from God and that his heart was disconnected. He wanted to reconnect with God so that he may be able to worship, fellowship and commune with God in spirit and in truth. Let our daily prayer be that our hearts be united with His so that we may do that which is pleasing and acceptable in His sight.
