Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law. Psa. 119:18
Certainly we all are aware that the Psalmist is referring to spiritual eyes in this context. There are several hidden or secret things in the law of God which are the deep, spiritual meaning of the word of God. Wonderful things mean things which are suited to excite wonder and amazement! They are hidden from the common view. We needed the special influence of God to practically dig deep into His word. We along with the Psalmist, should desire to see such things.
The Holy Spirit of God is specially given unto us to minister, reveal the wonderful truths of the word of God. May we be willing to be filled by His Spirit – submissive to His Spirit – while we meditate on His word that we would behold the wonderful things of His Law.
