Paul’s heart is filled with Joy remembering young Timothy’s tears and his sincere faith in the Lord. Paul is reminding Timothy to fan into flame the gift of God. He continued to encourage Timothy that God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
We may face many fears in our everyday lives, like fear of sharing the gospel, uncertainty, fear of failure & death, fear of social network, fear of losing job, friends & family and fear of not living holy life etc. We need not fear for anything. Through faith in Christ we are given a spirit of power, love and discipline to face any situation.
When we fear the Lord, we will be filled with Holy Spirit who gives us strength and power. It is our responsibility to fan into flame the gift of God in us, by having continuous fellowship with God and God’s people.
Father God! We love you. Thank you for your son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit God who gives us power, love and help us to self-control to overcome temptations of this world. Help us to encourage one another in the light of the word of God. In Jesus name. Amen!!
