I will make you an everlasting pride, a joy from generation to generation. (Isa. 60:15)
A man purchased an old China bowl for $3 in a garage sale. But this bowl is 1000 years old from the Northern Song Dynasty. After knowing this, the new owner puts for an auction in Sotheby’s Auction House, and their pre-sale estimated value was approx. $200 K, but a London dealer finally purchased the bowl for $2.2 M.
In today’s portion, we also see that God is turning tables. God promised that “whereas you have been forsaken and hated, … I will make you an everlasting pride, a joy from generation to generation.” Similar to this, God switches our roles as well. We are worthless without Jesus, but we become children of God and chosen vessels of honor because of the great sacrifice of Jesus. Let us continue to have faith in God so that He can turn tables and switch roles if you are in a difficult situation.
