Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God… (Psa. 147:1)
Building the wall of Jerusalem was one of the excellent work God has performed. When Israelites were exiled, God brought them under the leadership of Nehemiah and helped to restoring the gates and resettling the people of Israel, and rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in 52 days.
Psalm 147 sang most likely on this significant occasion.
Our God not only “builds” up Jerusalem (2) but also builds up our spiritual lives.
He “heals” the brokenhearted and “binds” up the wounds (3)
He “lifts” up the humble and “casts” the wicked down to the ground (6)
As our Father has sent Jesus to “build,” “bind,” “heal,” and “lift” us up, it is good to sing praises to Him. Our God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.
