The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Praise amidst storms of life

“I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; …I will praise You, O God, my God.” – Psalm 43:4

The Psalmist was in great despair and disturbed within himself due to his circumstances as he begins this psalm. He cries out to God to deliver him from his enemies who are oppressing him. But, as his focus shifted from his disappointments and his circumstances towards God, it made all the difference. He started praising and worshipping God, his Savior, his Hope and exceeding joy, even amidst the storms of life.

Are you in despair? Is there a storm raging inside you? Do you feel hopeless? Do your situations seem insurmountable? Like the psalmist, let us shift our focus towards Jesus, our Savior, our Redeemer and start praising and worshipping Him, for He alone is a way-maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness!

“…Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
