I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities Psa. 31.7
Is it possible for us to rejoice when we go through troubled times?
Yes, in today’s verse we see that David was able to. When fear was around him on every side, in the midst of troubles, he chose to trust in God’s mercy.
When everything around him failed, he was sure that:
– he can count of God’s unfailing love
– God was with him in his troubles
– God alone will rescue him from his enemies
Like David, may our faith be, not based on our feelings, emotions or what we see, but be based on the promises of God. God knows our helplessness. He knows that we should be rescued. Even while we are yet sinners, Christ died for us, to rescue us from the clutches of sin.
May we be glad and rejoice in our Savior, for He knows better what we want!
