Thus you shall do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully and wholeheartedly. 2 Chr 19:9
The blessings we have in Christ are a free provision to us. When we understand that we didn’t earn them, but God in HIS great love, mercy and forgiveness has bestowed upon us, causes us to fear HIM. But the true fear comes only when we love HIM in return for what HE has done to us.
Fearing the LORD means:
– To be in awe of HIS holiness
– To give HIM complete reverence
– To honor HIM
– To place our faith and trust only in HIM
– To hate sin
As God’s ambassadors, in holy fear, may we serve the LORD faithfully and wholeheartedly, by being obedient to His Word and shunning evil, but being mindful always that, whatever we do, we do it for the LORD, not for men.
