But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
God’s demonstration of Himself and of His love is not only in words but also in two unimaginable deeds.
1. Christ died for us.
2. Christ died while we were still sinners.
Truly, it is a wonder when God, the Uncreated One, The Creator, Who spoke all things into existence, The King of all universe, God Who is robed in splendor should take on a form of a Man in a sinful world to live a Holy, Pure, Spotless, Blameless, and Undefiled life, by enduring physical torment, emotional trauma, and spiritual agony and to die a crucial prolonged death for fallen, worthless, deceitful, immoral, evil, and wicked sinners like us.
This is how God demonstrated His Love towards us:
– Rich God became Poor.
– Holy God became Sin.
– Chiefest among ten thousand became Man of Sorrows.
– God who rode upon a Cherub rode on a Donkey.
– God who seated on the Throne carried the Cross.
– God left the Hand of Jesus to hold our hand.
No one can ever comprehend how much God loved and suffered for us to make us His purchased possession. Jesus Christ is the greatest gift that God could ever offer to us.
“One the eve of the Cross, Jesus made His decision. He would rather go to hell for you than go to heaven without you.” – Max Lucado
