Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you. Proverbs 2:11
During this pandemic, to protect ourselves from the dangers of COVID we all took many precautions like never before. Also, we take many efforts to protect our assets, and our children, etc. Jesus Christ exhorts protecting our souls from the enemy and sin is much more important than our physical lives, our Lord Jesus valued the soul much more than gaining the whole world (Matt. 16:26). To preserve our souls from destruction we need to seek wisdom. The wisdom of God is Jesus Christ Himself. The wisdom of God is the Word of God as Jesus is the Word who became flesh, when wisdom enters our heart and knowledge of Christ is pleasant to our soul, we will exercise Discretion and Understanding. Discretion is to know how, when and what to do in various circumstances. Understanding is discerning a situation, hidden dangers, and the right course of action. Godly Wisdom, Discretion, and Understanding will preserve us physically and spiritually from any trouble, enemy, and sin.
Major events in the Bible took place by exercising Discretion and Understanding- Hebrew midwives used discretion to preserve Moses, the greatest leader ever in history, Rahab preserved the lives of Israelite spies, Mordecai and Esther preserved Jews from being destroyed completely, 3 Wise men did not return to King Herod after visiting young Child Jesus.
