The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

How low will you go?

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5

Many people boast about their social status, powers, rights, knowledge, or to make a good impression on others or please themselves. But selfishness brings discord. Paul describes the humility of Christ and how low Christ decided to go for the sake of others. Paul is using Christ’s example to motivate the Philippian Church to humble themselves to go low for the sake of unity with others and presses each Christian to make sacrifices to get along with others, to have spiritual unity, to love one another, and to be in one spirit and purpose. Jesus Christ humbled Himself, Gave up His rights, Emptied Himself, took the Role of a slave, Lived as a Man, appeared as a Man, Lived sinless life, Obedient, Obedient to point of accepting death, even the death on the Cross (Phil 2:5-8). Like Christ, we should have a servant’s attitude, serving out of love for God and others. Paul is commanding all the saints to be transformed by the “renewing of the Mind”. The Spirit of Christ in us enables us to ‘live in unity’ with everyone, with the attitude of Christ’s Selfless, Sacrificial, and Serving mind.

Humility is not a character-trait to develop, it’s the natural by-product of being with Jesus. ~ Louie Giglio
