For I proclaim the name of the Lord; Ascribe greatness to our God.
Deut 32:3
The dictionary meaning of Proclaim is: to say or state (something) in a public.
When we read through the book of Deuteronomy, we see Gods faithfulness to Israel. Israel was Gods treasure. He fought their battles by going before them. He fed them Manna in the wilderness. The list goes on and on; Yet Israel continues rebellion against God. In Chap 32, which is almost at the end of the Deut, Moses proclaims about God and his Faithfulness, pleading them to follow God. And since they were unfaithful, God chastises them albeit calling them sons and daughters (v19). How would have Israel ascribed Glory to Yahweh. by following YHWH statutes. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
We also, often fall short of Gods standard, even after his great Faithfulness. And just like Israel, God is long suffering & doesn’t deal with us immediately. Let us not take advantage of Gods Patience but rather turn to Him. (Rom 2:4 – not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?)
We also might need someone to remind us, of Gods ways & his greatness. This happens when we are in the fellowship of saints, where we can share our burdens and are encouraged to run the race with endurance. (Heb 10:25 not neglecting to meet together)
If not Israel, then like Moses to proclaim HIS name among many unbelieving. (Mark 16:15)
Prayer: Dear Lord help us to follow you & revere you firstly, so we may lead many souls to you.
