I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19
Couple of days back we looked at Gods unfailing Love. Yesterday we looked at how we can be partakers of that Love. Today we will see, What God wants us to do with his Love.
The chapter of Luke 10 start off with Jesus sending out 72 disciples out to preach the good news of Kingdom of God and various instruction as a guide.
Just like them we also must preach the good news of the Gospel to the people in and around us. We may have a secular Job or not. But this does not negate us from the responsibility given to us by our Lord and Savior Christ. While verbally sharing the Good news is one method, it by no means is the only method. Our testimony at our workplace or our good works may all be a catalyst for sharing the Gospel.
Jesus mentioned specifically to pray for Laborers ;as harvest is plentiful, but Laborers are few.
In addition to us carrying the Good news to the world, we also need to pray that many more laborers may be raised up so the good news may reach the ends of the earth. And also, that people who do hear, may receive it with the eyes of their heart open (so the sown seed may come to fruition and not fall on dry land).
Lastly, we may be given many gifts; Gifts of preaching, teaching, healing etc. we ought not to rejoice in them but that we rejoice in the fact that our names are recorded in heaven( Lambs book of life – Rev 21:27)
