But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him, And in My name his horn shall be exalted. Ps 89:24
The preceding verses specifically describe Gods faithfulness to his chosen servant King David. David was a foreshadow of Jesus Christ and hence all the mercies & faithfulness of God apply to Him. And for those of us who are “in HIM“. Our God is a God like no other. While we fail many a times in our earthly bodies, He is not quick to execute judgement, but is ever merciful. PTL. He proved it all the more in the life of David, when he bought the eternal King, our savior, from his seed. (Mat 1:1-16 Abraham to David to Jesus).
A horn typically denotes strength. Imagine an animal with horn but of no strength in them. (Ex: A rhino who has a big horn but a weak body.) That horn is of no use. In similar manner, we being weak, our horn is strengthened and exalted in the name of Jesus. The fullest exaltation of the horn of Jesus is yet to come in that millennial period which is hastening on (Rev 20).
