The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Panic to Peace

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Phil. 4:6

Don't Panic: All of us face sorrows. Paul here encourages believers not to panic when trials come. Believers who know the maker of heaven and earth shouldn’t react to Trails the same way Unbelievers do, who have no hope or help.

we should know our God is capable of calming the storm (Mark 4:39) and also capable of guiding us through the storm. (Ex 14)

Prayer: We can do the above when we make our requests known to God. Let us not neglect prayers, for in time of need, we are equipped with the weapons of spiritual warfare.

Petition/Supplication : Supplication has a subtle difference to prayer. In some versions it is humbly/earnest pleading with kneeling. Kneeling & submitting our will are all forms of earnest pleading. It is as stated in today’s verse, in addition to prayer.

Thanksgiving: Praise is attributing to God for who he is. Thanksgiving is attributing to God for what he has done. Oftentimes, Thanksgiving gives us strength to carry on, as we remember his faithful guiding hand in our past.

Peace: Once we do all the above, God gives us our desired answers. Emphatic No! He gives us peace that passes understanding. We may not know the outcome of our future, but we know the one who holds it and hence we rest.

for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Mat 11:29

Sometimes he calms the storm,

Sometimes he calms His Child;
